A step toward creating “designer babies.”
The idea of designer babies is that someday, scientists may insert particular genes into embryos to produce babies with desired traits like intelligence or athletic ability. Some people find that notion repugnant, saying it turns children into designed objects, and would create an unequal society where some people are genetically enriched while others would be considered inferior.
Will you support this technology and carry out this action as a natural process of having an ideal baby?
Sheena Said...
Well, designer babies have the same concept as cloning. The only difference is that the wanted abilities to be designed is being injected directly to the embryo...while in cloning the mother will be the one to be cloned...
The birth process is natural but the result of genes is further unnatural and will contradict to the abilities of the parent's bloodline. I still support the natural birth process with the support only of vitamins and natural fruits and vegetables to nourish the baby for its brain development. Besides, having the intelligence and abilities we wanted for our child depends on how we nurture and guide them.
